Adventure Bound is a tent only campground located on the edge of the Kitty Hawk Maritime Forest.
Well behaved pets are welcomed but owners must keep them on a leash at all times.
Bathhouse with hot showers, flush toilets, various yard activities, volleyball, badminton, shuffleboard, horseshoes
Campers have free use of Crab Fishing nets + lines,
Surf Boogie boards, beach accessories,picnic tables and yard furniture that can be moved around the campgrounds.
We offer wooded,
shaded or open grassy camping spots and have charcoal grills available for your site.
Boaters, kayakers and canoeists can launch their boats at the public boat ramp about 1/4 mile away,
Bicyclists The Outer Banks area has a bike trail that runs the whole north/south distance of the Outer Banks
Hikers The NC Coastal Reserve offers hiking trails in the nearby maritime forest in the town of Kitty Hawk & in Nags Head woods. It has a total of 1,877 acres of maritime deciduous swamp, forest, and marsh lands.
Rates
$28.00 + tax for 1 or 2 persons in 1 tent, per night.
$5.00 for additional adults $2.50 for additional children under 12 years old
Children under 5 yrs old are at no additional charge
Discounts for groups over 10 people: $8.00 + tax per person, per night
RATES for July 4th Weekend $39.00 + tax for 1-2 persons in 1 tent, per night

Outer Banks International Hostel
Hostel guests can also use campground amenities like the shuffleboard, horseshoes, beach accessories, campfire, etc…
Bed linen & towels are provided at extra charge to hostellers.

Summer (Mid May to Labor Day): $25 + tax for dorm bed, per person $55 + tax for private room, 1-2 persons

Directions
From the North (Norfolk, VA) - Take Rt 168 south or Rt 17 south to Rt 158 east onto Outer Banks, cross Wright Memorial Bridge, travel 1/2 mile to the 2nd traffic light & turn right onto The Woods Road. Travel 2 miles to the end, turn right onto Kitty Hawk Rd. The campground is immediately on the right.
From the West (Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Rt 95) - Travel east on Rt 64 across Roanoke Island/Manteo onto the Outer Banks, bear left onto Rt 158 west when Rt 64 ends. Travel 12 miles north to Kitty Hawk Rd, (there is a 7/11 Gas Station/Convenient Store on the corner & a traffic light at the intersection). Turn left onto Kitty Hawk Rd. & head west one & a half miles to campground on the right.
From the South along coast - Take Cedar Island or Swan Quarter Ferry boat to Ocracoke Island, then Hatteras Ferry onto Outer Banks. Travel north on Rt 12 thru Cape Hatteras National Seashore to Rt 158 intersection in Nags Head, turn right onto Rt 158, travel 12 miles north to Kitty Hawk Rd, turn left on Kitty Hawk Rd, ( a 7/11 Gas station is on the corner & a traffic light) Campground is one & a half miles on the right.
